MASEGO NAVAJO

Having pioneered his own label, ‘Trap House Jazz’, producer/writer Masego returns with catchy slowjam ‘Navajo’. The track features bouncy beats, quirky samples and Masego’s soft vocals singing: “I know you see it, girl/This ain’t sitting real good in my soul/Everywhere this little girl goes/She pick up another obstacle”. Having had a small run-in with Chance The Rapper which involved Masego losing the centrepiece beat of his album to Chance The Rapper (‘All Night feat. Knox Fortune’), the youngster spent time regrouping and returned last year with 11-track mixtape Loose Thoughts. Having learned the invaluable lesson that the only way to avoid beat-sharing-disasters is to write all your own instead, the only nod externally for 'Navajo' is in the production, which comes from JLL. Fingers crossed this means that a full-length record will be soon on the way… -HM
